Just because summer is the season to get a tan, go sexy and show some skin, it doesn’t mean that in winter you have to hide your face and shrink under layers and layers of thick clothes- looking like a huge lump of walking textile. True, a person really needs to provide adequate protection for the body against the frigid weather… but there are ways to go about this while spicing up your wardrobe as well. Here are some helpful tips:

The trench coat. This is a classic for men and women. Wear your elegant trench coat with your business suit and favorite Florsheim pair (for men) or Louboutin boots (for men); just make sure you’re wearing the perfect length and size.

Work with scarves and Pashminas. To liven up the usual solid and plain colors of your overcoat, wrap a colorful scarf around your neck. Instead of pulling up the hood on that coat, covering your face and messing up your hair, try to style up a Pashmina wrap-around to warm you up and protect you from the biting cold wind. It would look good to put on a cute pair of ear muffs.

Still another way of cheering up your wardrobe is wearing colorful mitts or gloves. Go with printed and lively designs and your hands will turn into the accent of your get-up.
