The New Year brings in a whole lot more than a brand new set of 365 days to enjoy. It spurns a lot of change in people from the less obvious and often most easily forgotten, New Year’s resolutions to the more evident and noticeable new hair styles and facial care regimen.

Not only that, for the firm believers and followers of Chinese traditions such as Feng Shui, a considerable change in fashion is a welcome thing. This may start accessories, what with the numerous charms and trinkets of jade and other precious stones that they believe to be lures for luck and other good graces. Some even change their wallets and purses into the lucky colors the stars have spoken of.

Still on the topic of colors and Chinese Astrology, the revamp in wardrobe is undoubtedly influenced by these lucky colors. People would opt to go around sporting clothes in the same color that is predicted to be their lucky colors. For instance, those born in the Year of the Ox have red as their ‘new’ favorite color this year. Blue is the lucky color for those born in the Year of the Pig.

Yet another obvious change in fashion at the start of this year is the sudden proliferation of clothing, bags, towels, and countless other what-have-you’s that have designs and themes on cows and oxen. These are most popular for children’s fashion, of course.
